Sunday evening can develop a strange gravity. The weekend is technically still happening, but Monday has started sending representatives. You remember the meeting, the errand, the unfinished task, and the alarm that will arrive much sooner than seems reasonable.
Preparing for tomorrow can be useful. Mentally living through tomorrow before it begins is different. It charges today for problems that have not happened yet. You lose the evening, then still have to live Monday when it arrives. That is an expensive arrangement.
Try giving tomorrow a container. Write down what matters, set out what you need, and decide on the first step. Then close the office in your head. The goal is not to pretend Monday does not exist. It is to stop asking Sunday to do Monday’s emotional labor. This evening still belongs to you, even if tomorrow has a full calendar.
Today’s Prompt
What would help you prepare for tomorrow without surrendering the rest of today?
